With thanks to xkcd.com for the cartoon above, I’m a born and raised Montrealer posting my thoughts on hockey in this space. I’m not a reporter and have no special knowledge of the team other than what I read and watch.

This blog is about the Montreal Canadiens from the perspective of a fan terrified of the departed Bob Gainey’s wrath. If you aren’t afraid, well, you should be. I write about hockey and answer age-old questions, such as “Who Will Watch the Watchers?”, the answer to that question being Bob Gainey.  And don’t you forget it.

More specifically, I’ll be commenting on the Canadiens, the media coverage of team, and also their competition. The focus of this blog is on the Habs, with reference to their divisional and conference rivals. There may occasionally be posts on hockey in general.

Feel free to express yourself, this is a safe space after all, but I should say: you don’t have to love the Montreal Canadiens but then I don’t have to be nice about your team either.

My writing is inspired mostly from reading Andrew Stoeten at Drunk Jays Fans, Dustin Parkes and Drew Fairservice of Getting Blanked, Jonah Keri of Grantland, Elliotte Friedman of CBC, Bob McKenzie of TSN, and Pierre Lebrun of ESPN. Yes, more than half of those are baseball writers, but that doesn’t matter, since some of their ideas about team and salary management easily translate to hockey.
